Last but not least…

If you are still trying to understand gauge, what it is, why is important, why is it on a yarn ball band, how do I get it?

This video tutorial will cover all of that. This video will teach you all about gauge, so your next project will fit perfectly.

I’m On A Roll ~ Another Free Pattern Tutorial

I don’t make new year’s resolutions, but I did set a few goals for my website, shops and youtube channel.

Goal #1: Clean house.

My pattern shops are overflowing. I’m an organization junkie, and all the patterns are driving me crazy. So, to help clear some out, I’m retiring some of the patterns.

But wait, I’m not removing them totally.

Instead, I’m going to make videos (if there aren’t videos for them already) and make them FREE! Then the paid patterns will be easier to navigate and you get the benefit of me not being able to let go of the hard work I’ve put into these patterns.

So that leads me to goal #2.

Goal #2: Post more videos.

Don’t you love when you can kill two birds with one stone?

I’ve been slacking on my youtube channel.

I haven’t posted a motif of the month since I think October?

Now with my cleaning house, it’s giving me a new push and is helping add videos to my channel. While the motifs of the month are on hiatus, I will be substituting with some much better (I think) pattern tutorials.

Plus, I’m asking you guys what you want to see with the current giveaway.

So that leads me to the newest free pattern workshop:

One Skein Arches Cowl
One Skein Arches Cowl

This guy is a part of my One Skein Cowl ebook. Along with the Mobius Cowl, I’m working on turning every cowl in the book into a free pattern workshop.

The pattern and video are here.

Hop On The New Motif Of The Month

lilypad

The Lily Pad Motif, is a great 3 dimensional motif that uses the popular crocodile stitch to make the petals of the flower.

The free video tutorial will show you exactly how to make the crocodile stitch, which is deceptively simple.

New Year, New Motif

Flower in a Square Motif
Flower in a Square Motif

I really like this new motif. The flower has a 3D effect that is really cool.

Plus there is no sewing!

The square is crocheted right into the flower.

Sound hard?

It’s actually quite easy, especially with the free video tutorial.

The Piggyback Stitch

piggy_pattern

The newest Learn A Stitch Washcloth is an interesting and easy variation of the half double crochet stitch.

The piggyback stitch is aptly named because one half double piggybacks onto another to create this unique texture.

The video will walk you through the piggyback process while making a useful washcloth.

Learn the Waffle Weave Stitch While Making A Cute Baby Blanket

Waffle Weave Baby Blanket
Waffle Weave Baby Blanket

This baby blanket is made with a sometimes hard to learn waffle weave stitch.

It’s actually a very easy stitch, but learning it from a book can be difficult, so I made a video and added a free pattern to get you going.

This pattern is easy to customize to any size bed so don’t think it’s just for babies.

The “double thickness” of the waffle weave is super warm and surprisingly soft and squishy.
