New Viewer Request Tutorial ~ Basic Filet Crochet

This newest video will show you all the basics (mesh, increase, decrease, how to count the stitches with your graph) of working Filet crochet.

This is a super long and wordy video, so be warned. There is no going over how to crochet, you need to know how to double crochet and chain already.

Learn Some New Crochet Stitches With This New Series

Crunch Washcloth
Crunch Washcloth

I’m starting a new series of Free Pattern Workshops. This washcloth series is going to teach you some new ways to use basic crochet stitches to make cool textures and stitch patterns.

The first washcloth is made with a stitch usually called the “Crunch Stitch”. It’s a simple one row repeat, but creates a really cool look.

You can check out the pattern and video tutorial here.

Viewer Request Video

I also have a new viewer request video. It’s pretty specific, but those are usually the ones that are the most needed when you lease expect it. This video will show you how to decrease FPSC (front post single crochet) and BPSC (back post single crochet ) when working in the round.

You can check it out here.

How To Get Back On Track When A Mistake Happens In Foundation Single Crochet

A viewer had requested a video that showed how to get back on track once a mistake is made in foundation single crochet. She asked and I delivered.

The video below explains the two parts of the foundation single crochet and how to count your stitches when working it. That way a mistake can easily be frogged out without having to start your whole FSC over again.

Do you have a viewer request? Let me know below (in the comments, or contact me directly) and I’ll add you to the queue.

This is What Happens When You Cut A Granny Square In Half

Triangle Granny
Triangle Granny

I didn’t actually cut it in half. I crocheted it in half. This is the newest Motif of the Month – The Triangle Granny.

Working from the center out you can create a triangular motif that can be used for a variety of things. You can even join two together to reform a square — but make if fun in two different colors at least.

I’ll be putting up another tutorial on how to join these triangles for a blanket (a viewer request), so if you’re interested in seeing that be sure to follow the blog so you get notification when it posts.

In the mean time you can start making a bunch by downloading the pattern and watching the video. Lefties click here.

Basics for Intarsia Crochet

After a seemingly never ending string of road trips during the holidays, I’m finally back and able to get to work on viewer request videos. Here is the first of many to come.

Learn the basics for Intarsia crochet with the video below. You’ll not only learn how to change colors and read an intarsia chart, but I’ll also give helpful tips on tools to use and the difference between Intarsia, Fair Isle, and Tapestry crochet. I’ll also be putting up a few more Intarsia videos that delve deeper into the technique.

Remember, if you have a request for a video, leave it in the comments and I’ll add it to the list; and be sure to follow the blog so you get the newest tutorials delivered right to your inbox.
